Background

Our client is a French audio technology company specialising in the sale of speakers and amplifiers. They use air freight forwarding services from several couriers for import of their goods. They have been using our trade declaration (TDEC) service since 2016.

Challenges

  • To prepare TDEC for goods imported, our client is required to check and retrieve flight and shipment data from different couriers' web portals to fill into the TDEC forms
  • It is a time-consuming and resource-intensive process to carry out such manual work to fulfil compliance requirements which our client would like to eliminate or minimise so that their valuable resources could be spent more on their business

Solutions

  • We offer our Flight/Shipment Information Auto-retrieval Service in conjunction with an interface file for TDEC data upload to our TDEC platform
  • By providing the courier's name and House Reference Number in our interface file, the concerned flight and shipment information will automatically be retrieved from the concerned courier's web portal and filled into the TDEC together with other data provided by the client in the interface file
  • The Flight/Shipment information that is automatically retrieved from courier's web portal includes Form Type, Transport mode, Departure/Arrival date, Flight No., Vehicle Reference Number, Loading Port/Discharge Port, Master Reference No and CCRN
